We realize that our patients and their families have very busy schedules with school, church, work, and other activities and we are sensitive to those needs. We would like to be able to offer before and after school appointments for every visit; however, there are just not enough of those appointment slots available to accommodate every patient so as to complete everyone's orthodontic treatment on time. We normally see patients for regular orthodontic adjustment (check) visits about six to seven times in a year once the braces are on. Out of those seven orthodontic adjustment (check) visits five may be during the school year; therefore, it may be necessary for your child to have a "Non-Prime Time" check appointment time two to three times in a given year. In order for each patient to have their fair share of "Prime Time" appointments, we would like to suggest the following:
  • Consider taking your child out of school during a lunch hour, PE class, or an elective class.
  • Take your child into school a little late in the morning to first period, or leave last period a little early.
  • Pick up your child from school rather than waiting for them to arrive home on the bus before bringing them into our office.
In order for your orthodontic treatment to progress in an efficient and timely manner, it is important for you to remember the following:
  • For normal orthodontic adjustment (check) appointments we usually need to see our orthodontic patients at intervals of 6 - 10 weeks.
  • Certain procedures are ONLY scheduled during non-prime time appointment slots (i.e.: broken brackets, emergency wire, initial placement of braces, removal of braces, diagnostic records, missed and/or rescheduled appointments).
  • Regardless of how much we may like to, attempting to squeeze in late patients into the schedule causes us to run into another patient's appointment time slot. We may offer to let the patient wait for an opening that may occur, but sometimes it may not be possible; therefore, it may be necessary to reschedule. Please call our office if you are on your way to your appointment and are running late.
  • All missed or rescheduled appointments must be rescheduled within one week of the original appointment. Waiting for another prime time appointment is not in the best interest of the patient, since we are usually booked out 4 - 8 weeks, and will only extend the patients overall treatment time. Every effort should be made to keep the original appointment and to be on time. Patients with past due accounts will have their appointments rescheduled unless patient is prepared to pay prior to the appointment with cash, debit, MasterCard or Visa.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in this matter!
